"Aunty style" #2

Husband was paying bill at cashier counter.
He used his own ball pen to sign the credit card receipt.
The wife noticed the signature on the receipt is not clearly seen.

Wife:"Is your ball pen no ink? The signature cannot be seen at the receipt".
Husband:"It is OK. It is still considered signed".
The cashier accepted and kept the signed receipt.
Wife:"You sure OK? Will got problem or not? Should you ask the cashier if it is OK?"
Husband:"..." (say nothing)
Cashier:"you are entitled to a free umbrella. Which colour do you want? Pink or green?"
Wife:(think for a while)"...pink."
Cashier packed all things and gave them to this married couple, and somehow forgot to give them pink umbrella.
Wife(to husband):"Why no umbrella? Didn't she mentioned just now that we will have the umbrella?"
The wife spoke Chinese and the cashier is a Malay lady.
From the wife's voice tone, the cashier probably noticed what is missing, and gave them the umbrella.
Then they left the store.

Alex and I were behind this couple, each person carrying 2 tins of Novalac baby milk powder, patiently waiting for our turn to pay bill. After we paid our bill and walked out the store, I told Alex:"if you detected I have early signs of 'auntyness', please remind me immediately. I don't want to be like her."

By the way, we also got a free green umbrella :D

"Aunty style" #1

A woman becomes an "aunty" when she nags and doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut.

A family of 11 members went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner. This Chinese restaurant is family business whereby the mother, son and daughter take orders.

The son (a primary school boy) was waiting for this big family to take their seats, then to take order. A middle-age woman from the family complained to the boy:"Can you make sure all dishes are served at the same time? I had dinner here twice, both times the next dish came very long after we finished the previous dish!"

This woman repeated the same "I had dinner here twice, both times the next dish came late" statement few times to her family members. She also said the same thing to another aunty sitting at the next table.

After created chaos for quite a few minutes, this big family finally 'settled down' and started taking order.

Alex and I were sitting at another table next to the big family and about to finish our dinner. After we left, I asked Alex:"Did you notice the woman just now? If she doesn't like this restaurant's slow service, then don't come la. Just goto another restaurant. Why make a big fuss?"
Alex agreed:"I felt like slapping that woman just now."

Will I die young due to heart attack?

Today, I visited Chinese medication doctor, with intention to adjust my period back to 5 days. For the past 2 months, my period took 9 to 10 days to totally 'clean'. Before this, it tooks 7 to 8 days.

The diagnostic says my heart is weaker than normal, e.g. compare to a healthy heart, my heart pumps more times when I am breathing. Due to weaker heart:
1. My blood pressure is slightly slower (some where around 64/99 if I remember correctly).
From this website, 64/99 is at "borderline low" level.
2. My blood circulation is not well
One of the symptoms is period takes longer days to complete.

If I overwork (操劳过度), it will add more burdens to my heart.
Now I am still young, so my blood vessels can still contract (adjust themselves) to suit with my low blood pressure. When I get older which my blood vessels become less elastic, that is when I will potentially suffer with heart attack.

The doctor gives me 1 week medication and ask me to visit him again next week. He also advice me not to overwork, avoid oily food and cold food/drinks.

I am glad that I take initiative to improve my health condition today by visiting a good doctor. This diagnostic explained why I easily feel tired and hard to breath when I play badminton, swim, climbing up stair cases and run.
Now I have compel reason to not working overtime, rest well, relax more and spend time to do mild exercise.

I want to live long and healthy life. I want to take good care of myself. This is my major life goal, and I have to start doing something from now to achieve this goal.

Rejoice, remember and give thanks

This Sunday morning, Peter Shurley enlighted Agape Gospel Assembly Seremban with his 30 minutes violin live performance and His preaching about God's will for us.

Peter Shurley is in Facebook too. He recently spent most of his time in Myanmar. He has 5 children!! The eldest 19 and the youngest 1.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (New King James version)
16 Rejoice always,
17 pray without ceasing,
18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
I rejoice and give thanks as God given me a new life and made me a new creation.
I give thanks for He loves me unconditionally.
I give thanks for He has perfect plan for me and things happen in His perfect timing.
I give thanks for He provides and protects me from evil.
I give thanks for He increases my wisdom through His words.

Where is your mum?

This morning after sending Xing Jie to our neighbour next door, Alex and I walked to the mini lorry which stopped by in front of a house around 30 foot steps from ours. It is a "mobile vegetable lorry" (In chinese term, we call it 菜车). The couple sells vegetables, fish, prawns, beancurds, onions, barley... all common food that a housewife would buy to cook at home.

When Alex and I were selecting and buying things there, uncle asked:"Where is your mum? Have not seen her for quite some times." I was surprised:"You remember my mum? She is in Singapore now, taking care of my brother's baby." "Of course I remember her. She always come buy things carrying a baby."

Then uncle asked why are we not working on Monday. We told him we are now taking leave every Monday. He understands it is due to economic downturn and shared with us his story. He was working for people when his 4 children were young. There was times when he couldn't find any job at all. He couldn't sleep at night thinking about no money to support family. He even went to Singapore for work but eventually decided to start own business to have more secure income. Now his eldest son is 21 years old and the youngest daughter is 13. I can see he has found his way out.

Which parent doesn't love their children? We can do anything and try all ways just to provide the best to our children. Children give us strength to go through the toughest moments in our life.

Is there a difference have or not have child after getting married?
Yes. If you have your own child, you will understand your parents more. There is more reasons for you to be matured, responsible, be a better person and a good example because your child will imitate all your actions regardless if it is good or bad.

A quiet morning

It is 7:47am, a Saturday morning.
It is still very quiet.

Probably most people in my neighbourhood are not working on Saturday, and they are still sleeping.

I am going to start making noise by putting clothes into washing machine, and preparing porridge for Xing Jie.

We are supposed to go back to Port Dickson today to visit dad. The last time I went back is the 7th day of Chinese New Year. My dad is staying alone at home now with 3 dogs and flocks of chicken. My mum will be back soon by middle of March.

Alex expressed his feelings of going back as 'boring, nothing to do there'. I agree. No internet connection, no Astro. No cinema. No shopping mall. No badminton. If he wants to go fishing at the pond, he needs to hunt for lizards first as lizard is the favourite food of the fish in the pond.

Sigh... since when going back home visiting parents becomes a burden?

I wish that when I get old, I am still healthy, have my own circle of friends and have enough money. My children will not worry about me and just go and do what they want to do.

Usually women live longer than men. If husband pass away first, the wife have no acompany in her old age. Loosing a life partner is very tough especially for an old woman whom her life was solely around husband, children and work. A woman should be cautious not to fall into this trap.

What is the purpose of life?

I am turning 30 this year, and still asking this question.

What do I want to do if I have all the time and money and does not need to work?
I want to travel around the world with my love one.

What is so fascinating about seeing the world and experience everything?
A boh then, what else you want to do? Charity?

But now I still no money no time and still need to work wor. How do I achieve my ultimate goal?
Strike ToTo? But I don't gamble.

What else can I do if I don't work for people?
Don't know wor. No business skills, no selling skills. No networks.

What do I enjoy doing the most? How do I make money from doing what I like to do?
Sex. So... be a prostitute?

God says in his Words:
Matthew 6:33 -> But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
And in Proverbs 16:3 -> Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.'

We need to at least know what we want in life. Then only we know what to ask from God. Then only God can answer us.

What do you truly want in life?
I want... that if I die the next minute, I will die without regret of have not done anything in this short life.

God: err... how to answer your prayer wor. So abstract one.
